Kris Aquino ( One of ABS-CBN's Biggest Assets )

Kristina Bernadette Cojuangco Aquino-Yap, (born February 14, 1971 in Quezon City) is a prominent television and movie personality in the Philippines.

She is the fifth and youngest child of former president Corazon Aquino and Benigno Aquino, Jr., a popular opposition senator during the Ferdinand Marcos regime. She is the youngest of five siblings: Maria Elena, Aurora Corazon, Benigno the III (who currently represents Tarlac in the Philippine House of Representatives) and Victoria Eliza.

In recent years, Aquino has been labeled the Philippines's "Queen of Talk," due to her success in hosting talk shows. She was also crowned as the 2004 Box Office Queen for her hit movies such as Feng Shui and So... Happy Together.

Kris Aquino started her career on TV at ABS-CBN. Being young then, she was the starrer of the short-lived comedy show Luv Ko Si Kris.

It was not until 1994, that she did a Nandito Ako with action star Philip Salvador that started one of Kris' very controversial love affairs. Aquino became pregnant and had a child, Joshua.

With her movie career slowing, Aquino shifted her sights on a television career as a talk show host launched through The Kris Aquino Show produced by VIVA on Channel 4. But it was in GMA Network showbiz oriented talk show Startalk where she co-hosted with Boy Abunda and Lolit Solis that her hosting capabilities were noticed.

Media conglomerate and GMA Network's rival ABS-CBN noticed her undeniable hosting wit, offered her a contract and launched Today with Kris Aquino, one of the most successful talk shows of the 1990s. She also started hosting The Buzz on 1999 together with close friend Boy Abunda. On year 2001, when game shows became very popular in the Philippines, ABS-CBN tapped her to host Game KNB? to compete against IBC-13's local franchises of The Weakest Link and Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?. In January 2003 to May 2004, she hosted yet another successful morning talk show that was supposed to last for 2 weeks but lasted for 16 months entitled Morning Girls with Kris and Korina alongside popular media personality Korina Sanchez. Not all of Aquino's television endeavors were hits; notable failures include Balitang Kris, which lasted for one season. As of 2005, she hosts The Buzz, a showbiz gossip/talk show with Boy Abunda and Cristy Fermin for the same network, as well as Pilipinas, Game KNB?, a game show which focuses on trivia.

She had been also controversial for wearing plunging dresses which noted her as a fashion-talk show queen or as a fashion victim. Kris was also judged as a "taklesa queen" for her often to your face attitude when doing interviews.

Kris Aquino is the highest paid TV Host in the Philippines[citation needed], thus, making her the 'Queen of Talk and Game Shows'. She is also one of the Filipino actresses who are sought after by companies for product endorsements. At present, she is an endorser for a popular corned beef brand as well as for San Miguel Corporation and Smart Communications. Incidentally, the same corned beef brand is the name of basketball team that current beau James Yap plays for. Her commercial for San Miguel became the most remembered tv commercial and was said to have a 99 percent audience recall. She was paid a total of P20,000,000.00 for the said endorsement.

Aquino was also bestowed the title of "Commercial Princess of the Philippines". Such title was given to her for having numerous of TV and print appearances in Filipino media. and for being one of the highest paid commercial endorser in the Philippines, being at par with Sharon Cuneta.

She also currently hosts the Philippine franchise of Deal or No Deal, which is currently in ABS-CBN's primetime lineup.

Princess Hours, The No.1 Korean Drama of 2006

Nagsimula na ang pinananabikang Asianovela, ang princess hours. Simula pa lang, super ganda na at kakaaliw. Tiyak na susubaybayan ito ng marami dahil mabibitin ka sa istorya. Parang bang ayaw mo nang bibitiwan pa. Hindi lang 'yan, pabonus pa ang mga bida dahil ang gaganda at guguwapo nila. Kakainlove diba. Narito ang synopsis at mga bida sa kwento.








THE CHARACTERS:

Shin Chae-kyeong (신채경)

Portrayed by Yoon Eun Hye, Shin Chae-kyeong is a very effervescent, normal high school girl. She attends the same school as Lee Shin, the Crown Prince of Korea. Her grandfather was best friends with the previous King. To honor his friend, the previous King dictated that Chae-kyeong is to become the Crown Princess, which means that she is to marry whoever is the Crown Prince at the time of the marriage. Although she often seems immature and irritating, she is a kindhearted, innocent, honest person. Often called "Pig" by her younger brother, Chae-kyeong marries the prince to save her family from bankruptcy. Her initial reaction to Lee Shin is one of irritation but she falls in love with him in the earlier part of the series, not knowing that he, in return, feels the same way, until the last few episodes.













Lee Shin (이신)

The crown prince of Korea, Lee Shin, as portrayed by model and actor Joo Ji Hoon, is seen as a smug, indifferent, insensitive young man. After getting rejected by his girlfriend when he proposes to her, he decides to go along with his elders' arranged marriage with Shin Chae-kyeong. At first, he was irritated by her naivete and enthusiasm, but as he recognizes how genuinely sweet she is, he begins to open his heart to her, and falls in love. Throughout the series, it becomes obvious that inside, he is just a lonely, sensitive, warm and kind young man. He also owns a teddy bear, the only thing that he can let his guard down for, which is used as a focal point throughout the series. As his cousin re-enters the picture after being forced out of the country many years earlier, the prince quickly butts head with him, as Lee Yool is a contender not only for the throne, but for the crown princess Chae-kyeong's love. Chae-kyeong does not realize this until later on in the story.











Lee Yool (이율)

Kim Jeong Hoon plays Lee Yool, Shin's younger cousin. He returns from a long stay in England with his mother, a former ballerina and the widow of the former crown prince. The opposite of Shin, he is warm, kindhearted, sweet, and romantic--an instant hit with the girls. Interested in Chae-kyeong, their friendship grows to love on his side, while she remains innocently unaware of it until much later. Although the position of the Crown Prince originally belonged to him, it was given to his cousin when Yool's father died in a car accident and his mother was found to have had an affair with his uncle, who she was originally in love with, but she decides to marry his brother,the crown prince, wanting her son to inherit the title of crown prince. Originally uninterested in the throne, Yool decides to follow his mother's wishes and compete with Shin for the throne after falling in love with Chae-kyeong. In the end, after realizing that Chae-kyeong and Shin truly love each other, he passes up both the chance of being King and having Chae-kyeong as a wife, as he only wants her to be happy with Shin.













Min Hyo-rin (민효린)

Portrayed by Sung Ji Hyo, Hyo-rin is a skilled ballerina. She is beautiful, intelligent, accomplished--basically, perfect in every way possible. In the beginning, she is Shin's girlfriend, and he proposes to her. However, she rejects him, not only because she thinks he is joking, but also because she does not wish to give up her dreams of becoming a star ballerina. When she sees Chae-kyeong and Shin's wedding and how Chae-kyeong is loved by the people (similar to Princess Diana), she regrets her hasty decision, and does everything she can to oust Chae-kyeong from her position. Hyo-rin finds ways to draw Shin back to her, including a "chance" meeting in Thailand, but simply ends up hurting herself, resulting in attempting suicide. Later, however, she decides that Shin does truly love Chae-kyeong, and she ultimately gives him up and decides to just concentrate on her ballet.
